Bob's Story
My 15 year old daughter chaperoned my 12 year old daughter and her friend on a recent shopping trip downtown. While on the LRT platform my older daughter noticed a strange man staring a them. It was a hot day, but this man wore a long trench coat, dark glass and a hat pulled down. My daughter felt uneasy and want to move away, this feeling was reinforced when the man approached them and offered a bag full of pills saying “here take this”. My daughter said “NO!” and told the younger girls “we have to leave now to catch a train”. The three girls got on the train, but noticed the strange man also boarded the train. The three girls departed from the train at the next stop. Tymara (the oldest) saw a homeless man standing on the platform and for reasons unknown, went to him and gave him a 2 dollar coin. She normally mistrusts strangers, but this man’s eyes were so kind and although dirty, his face seemed to shine. The man said his name was Gabriel and that he had a message for her; “You must trust your instincts”. Tymara then got the inspiration to go into a store and pretend to talk on her cell phone to appear to be in contact. Then she engaged in a conversation with a sales person pretending to know them personally. After a short while the strange man left, the girls got back on the train and came home safely.
