First Lutheran Youth - FLY
Click here for current updated YOUTH SCHEDULE
YOUTH Highlights
6:45pm -9:00pm every Wednesday, September through May
Small Groups: A unique Christian experience for students in grades 7 and up. Youth night starts off with rockin’ and meaningful worship. Then it is cutting edge Bible in our Life discussions followed by “What’s your passion?” activities (music, sports, drama, games, cooking) and snacks. Alternate weeks are for mission and off site fun (B.A.R.F.).
BELONG
Our faith is a personal gift from Jesus and God designed us to be better together. FLy knows that fun times are the best part of being together.
"May our dependably steady and warmly personal God develop maturity in you so that you get along with each other as well as Jesus gets along with us all."
Romans 15:5 (The Message)
WORSHIP
Our youth worship team leads worship each week under the guidance of the director of worship. If you have a gift and passion for music and/or singing, you are welcome to join in with the youth worship team. Reheasals are @ 6pm before Youth begins.
"You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry hosts, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you."
Nehemiah 9:6 (NIV)
A time to meet with God, to listen to His heart, and be refreshed and renewed in His presence!
SERVE
Jesus Christ taught and lived this.
"Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave to all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Mark 10:43-45 (NIV)
We live in a world that is skeptical of the church because Christians don’t always live up to expectations. The gospel is not one of rules and authority but one of caring for others with the love of Christ. We live in a world that needs to experience the love of God’s people.
LEARN
To follow God's direction for our lives, we must know God's Word. Alternate Wednesdays are for learning about what the Bible says about your life (hope, possibilities and direction).
"Everything in the Scriptures is God's Word. All of this is useful for teaching and helping people and for correcting them and showing them how to live. The Scriptures train God's servants to do all kinds of good deeds."
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (CEV)
B.A.R.F. - Bring A Real Friend
One Wednesday a month, youth and their friends join a fun activity like laser tag, wall climbing, go karts and more.
